My Dell Vostro 1310 is also affected by this BUG.

I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 amd64. My Kernel:
2.6.31-20-generic

I also have this problem (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/487150) with keyboard- and touchpad-support.

Hi Gerhard,

If you could also please test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.

Hello Jeremy,
I tested with kernel version 2.6.34-999 as described in the link you mentioned. Although I ran into some other problems because the nvidia driver could not be built during the kernel package install, by reading the kernel log file I could verify that the bug is still present. (See log file attached.)
I also booted again with my current Ubuntu-fied kernel, which is 2.6.31-19 (also contained in the log).

I too am affected by this bug, on my Dell Vostro 1510 laptop. I see the same error message during boot: "mmc0: Unknown controller version (2). You may experience problems." I can also confirm that the error message is in /var/log/kern.log and /var/log/dmesg. I just installed Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit to dual boot along with my preexisting 9.10 (also 64-bit) install.

What's strange is that I now see this error message when booting 9.10 as well, which was definitely never a problem before the 10.04 install. Also, I'm almost positive that the first time I booted 10.04 as a "Live USB," I did not see this error, but it did appear after I did a complete install.

Prior to the 10.04 install, I used the Live USB boot to use gParted to delete an old partition, which had 8.04 on it. Then, during the 10.04 install, I manually created / and /home partitions.

I haven't noticed any adverse affects yet, but it's only been 12 hours since this error message first appeared at boot for me.

I'm happy to provide as many details as I can, if someone can let me know what will be most useful. Thanks!

Fresh 10.04 64bit install on a Dell Vostro 1520. My card reader worked with 9.10, and recognised my Sony m2 card via the adapter... but won't with 10.04.

Am happy to provide any other info if needed, thanks,

Tom

I am experiencing the same bug, or at least the same message, on booting my Acer Extensa 4420-5239. The boot process is very slow, about 30 seconds after Grub to login. This has occurred since upgrading to Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.
