PC randomly freezes during basic use. Nothing is responding. I need to restart using the power button.

Brian, I am not sure if it is a duplicate.
"PC randomly freezes during basic use. Nothing is responding. I need to restart using the power button.". I never use sleep nor hibernate (since it does not work anyway) and yet the system freezes randomly.

I think that netcat is right. If anything, it would be a dupe of bug 490893, not the one it is currently linked to. However, I think it should stand alone as its own bug as s/he does not use suspend or hibernate.

I suspect that my bug and his bug are related, though it is a hunch.

Indeed this is not a duplicate. Unfortunately, though, the reporter used the kernel warning from bug 417842 to report the bug, which puts too much junk in this report.

So, if you, Greg314, could report your issue again in a clean bugreport, that would be very helpful. Please use Alt-F2 to run "ubuntu-bug linux" and describe your problem in the new report that will create.
