Bug Description

I set my HP 8510W to hibernate and went out the door.
When I came back, a couple of hours later the PC hang, and was printing an error on the screen. I could not get it to work, so I repowered the laptop by holding down the power button for 4 seconds.

It is a HP 8510 W laptop with nvidia drivers. It is running Ubuntu 9.10 with the newest nvidia drivers available in the repository.

I had an external monitor connected through HDMI (Samsung 245B).
Have not tried to reproduce the error or anything.

Hi Axios,

The warning reported here typically indicates that it took longer for your system to resume from suspend than expected. I believe there is a 5 sec barrier which your system likely exceeded. Typically you'll see something similar to "PM: resume devices took 8.664 seconds" in your dmesg output when this happens. A patch to prevent this warning has been applied via bug 464552. As a result I'm marking this as a duplicate to bug 464552. Please continue to track this issue at that report. Thanks!
