2010-02-09 19:42:42 Bryce Harrington description Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel I have a G33 MB, and I read all the reports with this problem, but even now with karmic fully updated I cant get to X. Oddly I used to be able by switching VT and it would finallyy start X but now it is impossible. I tried to add i915.modeset=0 to the cmd line args, but it still flickers (I use a LCD TV on vga) with no message (well I think that my TV does not have time to sync on it). Moreover CTRL-ALT-DEL does not work - whereas it works when I used KMS. Also I need to mention that I also get in my logs drm: connectors have no modes using standard modes though I read that it should be fixed now. Well if I could I would shout HELP PLS ;-) I will try to post dmesg ASAP.
