I get the problem resuming after a standby. To be more precise when i press FN+Standby the system asked me the password so I write it and then I saw the light flashing correctly. A few minutes later i press the power button and karmic resumed and didn't ask me the password. I hope this additional description of the strange behavior of the password could help.
