This happened after a thing I have noticed - I will be happily Ubunting along; maybe AisleRiot solitaire is a common thread; and my system freaking boots. It drops to a command/boot type screen, then starts a really quick boot. I get a user selection screen, and then I sign in. That, I gotta admit, is really annoying.
