Still having error with the 2.6.31-14-generic kernel in 9.10 Tried this many, many times. Even tried this with 9.04 - does not work here. Network manager can see "some" networks (not my WPA2 one though), but can connect to NONE of them. Again, like so many others, rt2870 is not working still...was hoping that 9.10 would address this. dmesg | grep rt2870 [ 1479.698285] rt2800usb 1-6:1.0: firmware: requesting rt2870.bin [ 2065.788442] rt2800usb 1-6:1.0: firmware: requesting rt2870.bin [ 2442.518544] rt2800usb 1-6:1.0: firmware: requesting rt2870.bin dmesg | grep rt2800usb [ 1479.683129] Registered led device: rt2800usb-phy2::radio [ 1479.683140] Registered led device: rt2800usb-phy2::assoc [ 1479.683152] Registered led device: rt2800usb-phy2::quality [ 1479.683375] usbcore: registered new interface driver rt2800usb [ 1479.698285] rt2800usb 1-6:1.0: firmware: requesting rt2870.bin [ 2065.782136] Registered led device: rt2800usb-phy3::radio [ 2065.782149] Registered led device: rt2800usb-phy3::assoc [ 2065.782161] Registered led device: rt2800usb-phy3::quality [ 2065.788442] rt2800usb 1-6:1.0: firmware: requesting rt2870.bin [ 2436.719914] Registered led device: rt2800usb-phy4::radio [ 2436.719925] Registered led device: rt2800usb-phy4::assoc [ 2436.719937] Registered led device: rt2800usb-phy4::quality [ 2442.518544] rt2800usb 1-6:1.0: firmware: requesting rt2870.bin [ 3120.004277] Registered led device: rt2800usb-phy5::radio [ 3120.004289] Registered led device: rt2800usb-phy5::assoc [ 3120.004300] Registered led device: rt2800usb-phy5::quality iwconfig lo no wireless extensions. eth0 no wireless extensions. wmaster0 no wireless extensions. wlan0 IEEE 802.11bgn ESSID:"" Mode:Managed Frequency:2.412 GHz Access Point: Not-Associated Tx-Power=0 dBm Retry long limit:7 RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off Power Management:on Link Quality:0 Signal level:0 Noise level:0 Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0 Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0 lsusb Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub Bus 002 Device 003: ID 046d:08d7 Logitech, Inc.
