[Acer Aspire 3410] suspend/resume failure

Acer Aspire 3410T - Suspend from the menu seemed to work (although it took a good few seconds). Attempted resume by pressing space bar - screen backlight flashed on and off, then computer immediately powered off. I have seen similar reports for the Aspire 3810T, most likely the same bug as this machine is basically an Aspire 3810T with the Celeron M 723 ULV processor.
