Hi Eddie,

I notice the following error messages from your DpkgTerminalLog.gz file. Have you uninstalled grub?

Searching for GRUB installation directory ...
No GRUB directory found. To create a template run 'mkdir /boot/grub' first. To install grub, install it manually or try the 'grub-install' command. ### Warning, grub-install is used to change your MBR. ###

User postinst hook script [/sbin/update-grub] exited with value 1
dpkg: error processing linux-image-2.6.28-13-generic (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1

Changed in linux (Ubuntu):
status: New → Incomplete

Hi,
I've never uninstalled GRUB. I add mythbuntu to my standard ubuntu install.
Maybe that is a cause?

I think the above error is somehow related to me using LVM. I tried to upgrade my GRUB to GRUB2 to see if this would resolve the above error messages in post #2. Using Karmic Beta, I followed the directions of https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeam/Grub2Testing and my computer would not reboot. I've now abandoned LVM since from reading online, it doesn't seem to be well supported yet, e.g. Ubuntu Live CD.
