Bug Description
Problem is occurring since kernel .31.2 on Karmic Koala
In kernel .28.xx Longhaul is also reported as "is currently broken in this configuration" on startup, but it is not loaded. I could therefore use e_powersaver which works good. This is not possible anymore since Longhaul is loaded anyway. It seems to be compiled into the kernel so I cannot disable it. Wouldn't it be better to have it as a module?
I'm using a HP mini 2133 with a VIA C7-m CPU.
I hope that is enough information. My first bug report :)
Cheers

I would like to request loading it as a module. According to VIA: http:// www.viaarena. com/displaydown load.aspx? PageID= 1&DSCat= 32&DCatType= 3
"The Power Saver feature is considered experimental at this time and users are advised to visit VIA Arena regularly for the latest update.
An IDE lockup issue occurs on some VIA EPIA Mini-ITX mainboards when the Power Saver feature is enabled. A patch to resolve this issue is available for Fedora Core 3.0/4.0/.50 in the drivers section."
VIA has a bios beta update that might address this issue: http:// www.viaarena. com/displaydown load.aspx? PageID= 1&DSCat= 155&DCatType= 3
Since this bios is listed as a beta, users shouldn't be expected to use it.
