I got an error while installing an update for my Kernel in Karmic. It seems it had an problem processing linx-generic linux-image-generic and linux-image-
Also, it seems to have frozen on /usr/sbin/

Can you comment if this is still an issue for you? The exit status 137 seems to be from the update-grub process being terminated:
