Reassigning to the kernel, as from the syslog these messages are coming from the kernel. |

description |
I get several ugly messages printed to the screen when waking up from suspend (regression from Breezy).
I've got a Thinkpad T43-1871.
Thanks, please ask if I can give more info!

I see several messages like this in my syslog, and these messages appear when resuming from suspend to RAM:
May 1 00:52:42 localhost kernel: [4614185.651000] Restarting tasks...<3>hub 2-0:1.0: over-current change on port 1

This isn't a bug. That error is spawned by the hardware and defined in the USB specs. The kernel only catches it and report it to user land as specs say it should happen. |

These are required by the USB specification:
<fabbione> if you didn't get it before is because the kernel was not 100% compliant to the specs

I haven't been able to test Ubuntu on my laptop for some time, but I can now confirm that with the latest intrepid I no longer see these messages on resuming from suspend. That means the bug is fixed, because as per Fabio's explanation below, having the messages in syslog is not a problem, it was the fact that they were plastered all over the screen during resume that was the bug. |
