100% CPU usage while copying between HDD's

2 SATA Hdd`s (320Gb and 1Tb)

When I copy from one hdd to another I get 100%(or almost 100%) CPU usage. And the speed of copying is not very high. It's about 30MiB/s.
If i copy 2 file in parallel - I can't use my pc. Everything stucks till the copy process is over.

Not exactly the same here. Copying from one hd to another at about 34 MBs puts de cpu htop meter in 50 per cent, more or less and the load average into 2.04. 90 per cent of memory asigned to cache.

This is a behaveour i have already saw with other distros like gentoo or whatsoever anyway i dont understand why such a load to the cpu and to the load of the system just to copy a bunch of files. Maybe some guru cant illustrate me.
