This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in
it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try
with the latest Karmic 9.10 release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are
available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

If the issue remains, could you run the following command from a
Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal) while running Karmic. It
will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this
report.

Can you please try installing the following package? It contains an
updated compat wireless stack which may help.

linux-backports-modules-wireless-karmic-generic

If the issue still remains even after this, I'd encourage you to also
try installing the latest compat-wireless stack from upstream -
http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Download . This will allow us to
escalate this issue to the upstream developers. Please let us know your
results. Thanks.

Pepe, I did install the ath5k driver from wireless-kernel.org and still have the "unsupported jumbo" messages.

I must say I can't remove the linux-backports-modules-2.6.31-16-generic package so that might be interfering.

Here's what I get:

Hi mercutio22,

I'm sorry to hear that!

Please, start with 2.6.31-15, remove 2.6.31-16 and reinstall it (from Synaptic).

Thanks in advance.

I'd be happy to help, but I don't know what to do.

I have visited the forums and someone suggested removing entries related to that package from /var/lib/dpkg/status.

If I do that the package is not listed as installed in synaptic but as soon as I install something else it creeps back in, along with the error message I just posted.

Hi Bordi,

Please be sure to confirm this issue exists with the latest development release of Ubuntu. ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/lucid . apport-collect -p linux 375903

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.
