Bug Description
I have Qemu 0.9.1 on Windows and I can start Windows 98, Windows XP, Debian Etch, Debian Lenny, Ubuntu 8.10 in it, all with romanian language selected during installation.
ubuntu-
It only says:
[ 0.000000] ACPI: no DMI BIOS year, acpi=force is required to enable acpi
[ 12.728930] pci 0000:00:01.0: PIIX3: Enabling Passive Release
[ 13.692136] IO APIC resources could be not be allocated.
Loading, please wait...
And then it shows the loading annimation, and just that.
This is a critical bug - not even the installation ?!
I have set up this starting command for Qemu:
qemu.exe -L . -m 512 -soundhw all -localtime -M pc -cdrom J:
or
qemu-img create minidisk.img 3948M
qemu.exe -L . -m 768 -hda minidisk.img -soundhw all -localtime -M pc -cdrom J:

Hi Iuga,
This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http:// cdimage. ubuntu. com/releases/ .
If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications- >Accessories- >Terminal) . It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.
apport-collect -p linux 365039
Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https:/ /wiki.ubuntu. com/KernelMainl ineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs- upstream- testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs- upstream- testing' text. Please let us know your results.
Thanks in advance.
