After some investigations I found out that it seems to be a problem of the firmware. After replacing the isl3886 in /lib/firmware with the renamed http://daemonizer.de/prism54/prism54-fw/fw-softmac/lmac_2.7.0.0.arm my Allnet 0271 works as it should. The firmware that I use now is the same as in Hardy where I hadn't any problems.

I am using exactly this firmware (2.7.0.0.arm from daemonizer.de) and the "tx overflow" bug persists on a fresh Jaunty i386 install and I cannot connect to the wireless network. The device is a 3CRWE154G72 but on a different computer the bug does not appear and the card works well (Intrepid and Jaunty). How can I find out the relevant difference between those two computers?

Hi dorpm,

This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/lucid.

If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.

apport-collect -p linux 363528

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.
