Installed a fresh copy of Jaunty beta on my machine, with no updates except for the installation of the nvidia driver.

To make sound come out of the headphones, I must go into gnome-volume- control and unmute "Surround" (this has to first be added via Preferences > check the Surround box).
To turn off the internal speakers, I have to mute "Front" in gnome-volume- control.
The "Headphone" checkbox in the "Switches" tab has no effect on headphone playback.
I'd be happy to do whatever needs to be done to resolve this issue, thanks!
