Bug Description

When I've my "ZyDAS WLA-54L WiFi" attached to my PC during startup, Ubuntu 9.04 crashes.

The crash occurs just after the boot bar has been finished, the screen flickers and then I'm on the commandline for a few seconds and then the screen turns black. The only thing that I can do is restarting.

When I remove the USB Stick before booting and put it in after login everything (except the Networkmanager) works.

When I start the networkmanager, the whole system crashs again (bars are beeing removed and I'm unable to do anything...again) when I use the trayicon, everything works.

I've attached the specific area out of the systemlog, when starting with attached USB stick.

I am using this card on a PC with Ubuntu 9.04 with no problem at all. In fact, this card replaces an old USB wifi card that caused me a lot of problems.

In my case, the driver seems to be zd1211rw instead of zd1211r. I include related information:

$ lsusb | grep ZyDAS
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0ace:1215 ZyDAS WLA-54L WiFi

$ dmesg | grep zd1211

whoops, sorry

the driver is zd1211rw , sorry for the typo.

that's strange. I've now a Fritz!WLAN Usb Stick with Ndiswrapper and the error does not occur anymore. But when I connect my ZyDAS stick to the pc the same happens as mentioned in the description.

Maybe that is because of my location (germany)?

Hi Artiom,

Thanks for the confirmation. The tar.gz is not necessary (and slows down processing of this bug), so I'm attaching an uncompressed version.
