Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.28-8-generic

Installed from Jaunty alpha 4, then upgraded. Resuming from suspend works fine in 8.10.

Symptoms are NumLock & CapsLock blinking and no other activity (no HD, screen is not powered on...).

Please make me know what kind of information is useful to help you find the problem.

Tnx ;)

Also affects linux-image-2.6.28-9-generic (version 2.6.28-9.29)... it doesn't even suspend, but hang before suspend with blinking caps lock & num lock...

Could you please follow the triage and debugging guide (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKernelSuspendHibernateResume) and report back here. As you have flashing caps lock lights its likely a panic. Reproducing in text mode as described in this guide may give us a panic dump.

Hi. Thanks, but I finally have returned back to intrepid; this ubuntu version works perfectly with my Vaio... and, as I've only got 80G HD, I cannot play with different installations (I've only got swap, / and /home partitions).

Thanks anyway.

I've an issue similar to thise bug in jaunty. I own a Vaio TZ11-MN series and seems to have a regression in resuming from PM suspend.

What info do you need to restart the debugg? Perhaps the guide (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKernelSuspendHibernateResume)?

I don't have the blinking but I need to do more tests..ah in Hardy, and Intrepid was working smooth. Maybe a Intel 9xx problem?
