Comment 32 for bug 334249

I had the same problem on my Dell Vostro 1510 with Ubuntu 9.04 kernel 2.6.28-11-generic since yesterday (new to Ubuntu and Linux in general).
My first cold reboot was when I trying to show a friend that it "really just works", and sure enough that's when the keyboard and trackpad go dead.

Adding the "i8042.reset i8042.nomux i8042.nopnp i8042.noloop" line seems to have solved the problem completely.
