Floppy not mounted by default . After much sudo able to gain read & write access . Floppy Formatter (gfloppy & KFloppy) not working on Ubuntu 8.10 - Cannot initialize device - You do not have proper permission ..... . Newer versions available on Debian 5.0 LiveCD - able to format ext2 file without questions or any sudo . Unable to shut down Ubuntu since using from 7.10 to 8.10 . Have to reboot into Windows XP to shut down . Sound system muldy - need improvement . Too much bugs on Ubuntu . Firewall Configuration - ufw - missing from Administration . Manual install it . Tried - (Ubuntu - Ultimate Edition , Studio , Super ) - sound system still muldy . Tried Fedora 10 , Debian 5.0 - worst - no sound at all . Multiboot PC - Windows 7 Beta , XP Professional & Ubuntu 8.10 LTS (floppy & sound system perfect on Windows OSes) . Software installation from third party sources is too much hassles & troublesome - many times - unworkable . Hopefully Ubuntu 9.04 will be able to boot & format floppy without the need for any sudo . Despite all the Bugs , Ubuntu is still the BEST . Thanks, mike |
