Bug Description

bug for a jaunty alpha 4 fresh install (with updates)
as in subject, if i insert a memory card in both the card readers (left and right) of the aspire one, i obtain the following error oin kern.log:

mmc0: error -84 whilst initialising SD card

this bug is well known by for kernel developers
i found a thread in the kernel ml with a workaround to temporary solve the problem untill 2.6.29 release:

http://marc.info/?l=linux-kernel&m=122747285511556&w=2

it is sufficient to add to modprobe.d/options the following option:

options sdhci debug_quirks=1

I have the same problem on a fresh install of Ubuntu 9.04 Netbook Remix on a Dell Inspiron 910 (a.k.a. mini 9).

PNY Optima SDHC 8GB card.

The work-around above was successful. (Thank you!)

Another "me too" with Jaunty UNR on a Dell Mini 9. Are there any plans to fix this? The SD card reader worked in the initial Ubuntu 8.04 install, so I consider this a regression.

this workaround has worked for me, but seemingly only on the left-hand reader - better than nothing, thanks!

"me too", Acer Aspire One, Jaunty UNR, 2.6.28. workaround only fixed the left-hand card reader, right hand still doesn't work (doesn't even register events/errors in dmesg or syslog)
thanks for the fix!

I'm using Maverick (10.10) with latest updates. I have Acer Aspire one 110L. With normal settings neither of memory slots are hot-pluggable, with line "options sdhci debug_quirks=1" in modprobe, left one works, but right one doesn't.
