Live CD fails to load on Macbook 2,1

Bug Description
When using LiveCD (Jaunty Alpha 3) Ubuntu fails to load gnome-desktop. It gets as far as a wallpaper (The ibex) and then stops.
Mouse cursor still works until a keypress or buttonpress.
Unable to CTRL+ALT+F1 into a console.
I am running a Macbook 2,1 (Intel GMA 950 GPU)
Please let me know what other information I can provide, although it's tricky when the liveCD hangs.
