Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.27-11-generic

Hi all,

after updating to 2.6.27-11 from "intrepid-proposed", the backlight brightness control on my Lenovo Thinkpad X300 won't work.
If starting the system with earlier versions like 2.6.27-9, there's no problem to change the brightness as usual with the gnome applet or hotkeys.

With the update, gnome shows the OSD when pressing the hotkeys and changes the brightness correct - but the screen does not...

(Sorry, this is my first bug report... :-) If I forgot something - tell me!)

Greetings, Gdev

I can confirm this bug. Up to Kernel 2.6.27-10 backlight dimming of my Lenovo Thinkpad R500 was ok. After update to 2.6.27-11 it was broken. Starting with previous kernel in Grub the dimming was working.
