Bug Description

I am not sure which package causes the failure etither the new version of acpi or the new Kernel.
I am using Ubuntu 8.10 64bit on a hp dv9375eu. activating proposed repository results in the loss of ability to adjust the monitors brightness by using the keys.

cat /proc/acpi/video/VGA/LCD/brightness

should be:
levels: 92 42 20 24 28 33 38 42 48 56 66 78 92
current: 92

but using the new kernel it is:
<not supported>

Hi Tobias,

This seems to be a duplicate of bug 311716 so I am marking it as such. Please continue to track this issue at that report. The Ubuntu kernel team is actively working on a fix there. Thanks.
