Brightness control not working

Bug Description

Ever since the latest updates as of today, my brightness control has not been working after I restarted the computer, as suggested after the update.

My computer is a HP Pavilion dv6000 series. I think it is a kernel fault because the brightness control works with kernel version 2.6.27-10.20
