I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Also, I've been unable to reproduce your issue on Ubuntu 8.10. Can you reproduce this issue with an Ubuntu LIVE CD and report back if the problem still exists on Ubuntu 8.10 LIVE CD?
