i chose to update and something failed to install

Hi glucero0,

Sorry for the delayed response here. Can you comment if this is still an issue for you? The reason I ask is because based on your dmesg output I see you already are running the 2.6.27-7.16 kernel so it would seem the install did indeed pass. Please let us know. Thanks.

Hello, thanks for the response.

I believe this was the auto-upgrade using Update Manager that was
failing. The initial installation went fine. Update Manager seems to
work fine now too.

The only other problem I'm having has to do with the video mode and I
think I just need to find a driver for the mobile radeon built into
the laptop.
