Ralink driver fails to suspend

Bug Description

I have two RaLink RT2561/RT61 802.11g PCI network controllers, and they Just Work with Ubuntu 8.10-- with the exception being that if you suspend, the driver ceases to function.
After running

sudo rmmod rt61pci
sudo modprobe rt61pci

The driver functions perfectly again. This machine, however, is for my grandmother, and I'm not going to have her manually reloading kernel modules.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.

Please run the command "sudo lspci -vvnn > lspci-vvnn.log" and attach the resulting file "lspci-vvnn.log" to this bug report. This will provide the hardware information.

Please run the command "dmesg > dmesg.log" after resuming and attach the resulting file "dmesg.log" to this bug report. This will provide the kernel messages made while resuming.

Maybe this in a duplicate of bug #298623 (we need to check the logs).

If https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/300792/comments/13 works for you please leave a comment there referencing this bug.

Thank you SO much, Florian, for that link. I was digging around in /etc/acpi/resume.d/ and suspend.d/ yesterday trying to figure out how to do just that.

It's exactly what should be done until that driver can suspend; it works perfectly.
I'm going to put this machine upstairs for my grandma now.

Wait, wait-- Ok, I turned the machine back on again today and when it resumed from suspend, there was no networking icon in the tray at all. I did the rmmod thing, the modprobe thing, nothing happened, and I restarted.

If this happens again, I'll have to get more info and try to get that resolved..
