package linux-generic failed to install/upgrade with the following error:
User postinst hook script [/sbin/update-grub] exited with value 10

Run the following command :
sudo DEBCONF_
And check for the lines:

sudo apt-get clean

The cause of the failure is: 2.6.24- 19-generic ein (2.6.24-19.41) ... img-2.6. 24-19-generic 2.6.24- 21-generic 2.6.24- 19-generic +.bin 2.6.24- 19-generic (--configure):
