2008-11-04 16:26:14 Lee Wittham description Recently upgraded from a working 8.04 install to 8.10 via update-manager. When booting the system with my logitech trackball connected, I do not see the splash screen, and I see the following error: usb 1-1: device not accepting address 2, error -71 If I unplug the trackball and re-plug it, the error does not repeat. If I boot the system without the trackball connected, I do not see this error, and the splash screen displays. The trackball works fine in all circumstances. dmesg attached.
