I'm having the same problem, I've tried playing with it but no luck so far. How did you guys compile the driver? I used the guide here: http://www.linuxtv.org/v4lwiki/index.php/How_to_build_from_Mercurial

This is the last thing I want to get working before uninstalling Hardy in favour of Intrepid.

with this I got the DVB-T running.
Uncertainly Kaffeine crashes the hold X-System but I expect this to be a different issue.

I made a howto in the ubunutu-fr wiki http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/pctv_usb_stick, it's really a shame that ubuntu doesn't ship an up-to-date driver for the DVB devices!! I really hope to see this bug closed in the next release...

Hi xens,

I saw your message and i tried your solution.
Before trying your solution, my TV-card worked on the 2.6.27-7-generic kernel, but not for the next ones.
Now my TV-card is working on the last 2.6.27-13-generic kernel, so it is wonderful !
I just modified on the ubuntu-fr wiki the commands to compile the driver : you forgot the sudo for the make and the make install command, so because the folder was on root folders, the simple "copy and paste" didn't works.
I also add the option to reboot the computer : I had to do it because before rebooting, the drivers didn't load correctly. A simple reboot of the computer was enough to allow my TV-card to works correctly on kaffeine.

Now, for people which have a Pinnacle PCTV Hybrid Pro (330e), the last problem is that the sound doen't work for analogic mode : with tvtime for example, the personal command "sox -s -v 20 -r 512000 -c 2 -t ossdsp /dev/dsp2 -t ossdsp /dev/dsp" give me sound, but with execrable quality, with a really big noise. This is the best way for me to get a sound, but I cannot see tv with it ? I really hope the em28xx driver will correct the problem to propose the sound on analogic mode.
I repeat the DVB-T tuner is working perfectly with kaffeine.

Hi xens,

Please be sure to confirm this issue exists with the latest development release of Ubuntu. ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/karmic . If the issue remains, please run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.

apport-collect -p linux 291272

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.
