when you select packages to be updates. from synaptic or every other way
it sayshis error at the finish of the process
the packages seems to b actuallized

you've uninstalled grub to installed grub2 then uninstalled grub2. So there is no more grub on your system.

Please re-install grub with the following command and it should solve your issue:
sudo apt-get install grub
