Bug Description

This bug is similar to bug #134660 in Hardy. In Hardy I installed the backports, and that solved my problem.

Now I am testing the 8.10 release candidate, and found out, that sometimes my wifi connection breaks down after some time. My wifi-dongle has an rt73 chip.

Here the dmesg excerpt:
[ 386.898504] phy0 -> rt2x00queue_write_tx_frame: Error - Arrived at non-free entry in the non-full queue 2.
[ 386.898507] Please file bug report to http://rt2x00.serialmonkey.com.

Hi Markus,

Per the kernel team's bug policy, can you please attach the following information. Please be sure to attach each file as a separate attachment.

* cat /proc/version_signature > version.log
* dmesg > dmesg.log
* sudo lspci -vvnn > lspci-vvnn.log

For more information regarding the kernel team bug policy, please refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeamBugPolicies .

I'm assuming though that your device uses the rt73usb driver? If so, you may want to try installing the linux-backports-modules package for Intrepid as has pulled in an updated wireless stack from upstream:

linux-backports-modules-2.6.27 (2.6.27-7.3) intrepid; urgency=low

  [Tim Gardner]

  * Added iwlwifi firmware
  * Added the upstream compat-wireless-2.6 tree.
  * Updated compat-wireless to wireless-testing tag master-2008-10-14
  * Set CONFIG_WIRELESS_OLD_REGULATORY=y by default.

Please let us know your results. Thanks.

Hi Leann,

I'll try to reproduce the error after work, and attach the requested files.

My device uses the rt73usb driver. The error occurred, when I was downloading a huge file via http and was surfing at the same time. But I have to say, that I only experienced this problem twice. I have been surfing for several hours without experiencing any problem.

Hi Markus,

Just curious if you saw the error with or without linux-backports-modules-intrepid installed? Thanks.
