[Intrepid] HP 2510p function buttons without (proper) functionality

On my HP Compaq 2510p some of the function buttons (fn + f#) or buttons in laptop shell aren't working or are not working proper, in Hardy they did.

At least I found the following issues:

* battery status (fn + f8) is not working at all. [Update 22 Feb 09: Works now]
* mute changes state after a while into unmute. [Update 23 Jul 10: Seems not an issue any more]
* sound volume slider usage has no effect on master volume. [Update 23 Jul 10: Works now]

Presentation mode never worked.

 Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue for you. Can you try with the latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

thank you for asking again, I updated the ticket; fn + f8 is working now.

Mute and volume slider are still not working.

I have the same problem with my hp tx1000. 3 out of 4 launch buttons (the buttons on the right side of the monitor) do not work! Please fix that.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner.
There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test the current Ubuntu development version (10.10). If you can test it, and it is still an issue, we would appreciate if you could upload updated logs by running apport-collect <bug #>, and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.

Thank you for your reminder, Usually I don't have the capacity to test the development version, because I need the notebook for daily work. I can try a live CD though.

For 10.04 only the info button and the presentation mode on the bar do not have any functionality. All others buttons / functions seem to work now.
