Bug Description

I am using Intrepid Ibex alpha 6, and it is fully updated. My internal wifi card (RTL8187b) is now supported with this kernel, but when i connect to a wifi network, it will only work for a few minutes, then stop working, if i try to rejoin, it just says that it is waiting for a network address from my network, but finally stops and says it disconnected, network manager still shows the signal strength, but can't rejoin untill i restart (logging out, then back in does not help), network manager does not crash, and if i plug in an internet cable and it works fine. My kernel is 2.6.27-2-generic

This happens to me intermittently with the 2008-10-02 beta as well: Thinkpad X60 with Intel wireless.

This is a problem for me too

Have the rtl8187b internal usb wireless.

It connects fine after make modprobe.
But when starting, f.example torrent software it has no internett connection after about 15-20 minutes.

The signal strenght show everything ok, I got signal. But internet does not work, when I reboot. Internet works fine again for 20 minutes

Have kernel 2.6.27-8-generic Ubuntu 8-10

My friends laptop is having the same problem - I fixed it before by adding the iwconfig wlan0 rate 5.5M line to /etc/rc/local, however, since upgrading to 2.6.27-11 kernel, it has the same problem, but works fine under 2.6.27-9 and -7

Having only limited time on a Friends laptop, I really need to find out if anyone knows whats going on - currently only fixed by making sure the other kernel is booted (which isn't great for my friend as he is pretty new to Ubuntu)

Thanks

Having exactly the same problem. Internet works fine but as soon as I start a torrent client, the connections stops working after ~15min. By restarting the NetworkManager with sudo /etc/init.d/NetworkManager restart I can fix the broken connection. Though I get the same behaviour by using wicd. I have also tried to use iwconfig, but it didn't help either.
I am using RTL8187B on Intrepid under 2.6.27-11

I have just tried this with an upto date jaunty install (as of 15/4/09) and can state that my Belkin USB adapter now works. If someone else has one of these can they confirm please?
