Bug Description
Binary package hint: module-init-tools
I'm using intrepid on a sony vaio vgn-fz21e, the sound card ich8 from intel is not configured correctly by modprobe.
options snd-hda-intel model=vaio position_fix=0
Then everything works well. Same issue and workaround in hardy. I think it could be fixed to work directly, since the option needed is depedent on the card subsystem, that appear in lspci or /proc/asound/....
$ uname -a

This sounds like a kernel not getting the local quirks right issue.
