2008-09-18 21:14:18 Hunter_bt description DESCRIPTION I can't use 1024x768(vga=792). The best I can get is 640x480(I'm not sure but it looks like it is) when I use vga=normal. SYSTEM Distro: Ubuntu 8.10 Alpha 5, 64-bit, CD CPU: AMD Athlon 64 Video: NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT Monitor: Samsung SyncMaster 740 BF (LCD, native resolution: 1280x1024) Chipset: nForce 570 LOGS 1. kernel_normal.log (vga=normal, works fine but it's only 640x480). 2. kernel_792.log (vga=792, it fails to set 1024x768, black screen). 3. kernel_795.log (vga=795, it fails to set 1280x1024, fallback to 640x480). 4. lspci-vvnn.log HISTORY OF THE BUG I switched from Hardy to Intrepid Alpha 5 and I noticed that 1024x768 stopped to work at all(black screen). I don't know whether this problem was introduced in 2.6.27 kernel but I know that my Hardy uses 2.6.24 kernel and 1024x768 works fine there. MISC There is another bug that I have with Hardy.
