Bug Description

Kernel panic when booting Intrepid Ibex Server install CD. I see the same behavior when testing CD vs. actually beginning the install. Screenshot of the output is attached.

I have seen this error since Alpha4 and the 2.6.26 kernel.

Trace begins by saying "Unable to load the system description tables" although this scrolls off the screen before the input you see in the shot.

Hi eshamow,

I noticed you named your .png attachment wih "Sun xVM VirtualBox" . . . I'm just curious if you are using VirtualBox to test or have you verified this issue with actual HW as well? The reason I ask is there is a known issue of kernel panics with trying to boot the 2.6.27 kernels in VirtualBox. This bug is which is actively being worked on and will hopefully be resolved by Intrepid Alpha6 - bug 246067. I'm just curious if this is a duplicate of that bug. Thanks.

Leann,

You are correct -- didn't find that bug in my searches. This is a duplicate.

Thanks!
