Bug Description
Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.26
The Ralink RT2860 Wireless lan is a widely used wlan card, even more now since it is built in many netbooks, incuding mine :-) , but its been missing in the linux-kernel or resticted-modules..
Ralink provides a OpenSource driver, since version 1.7.0.0 it even works fine with the Networkmanager used in ubuntu and all other flavors. I have been testing it in Intrepid for a while now.. Support for the Networkmanager just has to be turned on before Compiling..
It would be great, since Intrepid is a release focused on more bleeding edge and not a LTS.. to see this Modul working out of the box in Intrepid...
Original Driver from Ralink http://
I incuded a fixed source that worked fine for me, Networkmanager is activated..
Here are the changes and difference between the original and the one I uploaded to launchpad:
* This driver will compile on 2.6.26.
* The RT2860STA.dat file wont copy to /etc/Wireless/
* The wierd tftboot file in the root directory wont be placed.
* Support for Network Manager is activated.
* This driver wont trash the logs that bad anymore.

Hi Jason,
This has actually already been requested in bug 210725 which is already Triaged and assigned to the kernel team. I'm going to go ahead and mark this as a duplicate of that report. Please continue to follow it's progress there. Thanks.
