Bug Description

When attaching Nokia 5310 in mass-storage mode to Thinkpad T40 device is not automounted anymore with kernel 2.6.27, on the same up2date system it works perfectly if I select 2.6.26-5 in grub boot.

device /dev/sdb isn't created

Have this issue myself, turns out the 5300 and 5310 have the same problem (reporting one more sector than is really on the sd card). I have attached a patch I made that resolved the issue for me.

Can you tell me how I can test your patch? Just tell me what and where I need to patch. As I understand this patch it's for kernel, right?

Yes, it's for the kernel. Apply the patch to drivers/usb/storage/unusual_devs.h in your kernel source directory.

To anyone that is having this problem with the Nokia 5310. I have submitted my patch upstream, it has been accepted into mainline and will be included with the next 2.6.27 release

Hi,

Have you created a new bug in launchpad? If so send me the link, if
not create one and send me the link. You will need to post the output
of dmesg(what you sent me) and lsusb -v (only parts relevant to the
phone.) With that information I should be able to make a patch for you
to try.
