Bug Description

Hello everybody,

I am running Ubuntu 8.04.1 on an IBM T40 laptop.
When booting the laptop with the the generic 2.6.24-19 kernel (current version) the boot process stops at about 12% (according to the waitbar).
I have a hunch that the stop occurs right before the laptop's internal WLAN device is activated. The WLAN device on my laptop is a Cisco Aironet Wireless 802.11b.

When manually choosing the 2.6.22-14 generic kernel the boot process works just fine. The WLAN device is then activated properly during boot process.

I am sure you will need additional information from my laptop concerning this reoport. Please let me know how to retrieve it from my laptop.

Kind regards, Tobias

This could be duplicate of bug 189398. If blacklisting following modules fix this bug we could mark it duplicate.

# these aes modules break the airo driver
blacklist padlock_aes
blacklist geode_aes

Thank you for your advice, Jouni. Adding those two lines to the blacklist file fixed the stop of the boot process on my T40 laptop.
Right now I am running the current kernel 2.6.24-19-generic and the boot process went smoothly as usual.
I am goint to mark this bug as a duplicate of the bug #189398.

Thanks again for your help. :)
