That's almost certainly the cause.
The best thing to try (although not guaranteed to work, sadly), is a workaround explained here:

I've converted this to a support question. The bug is indeed a bug, but it's one that is already well known, and reported elsewhere (unless you can demonstrate that it's not due to the graphics drivers). |

Let's file against the kernel, if you think it worked with different kernels, and set it back to new.
It may have been already reported, in which case someone will hopefully set this as a duplicate. |
