2008-04-26 19:46:50 Fabio Marzocca description I have just upgraded my 6.06 LTS to 8.04 LTS, but I can't enter the system as the boot sequence immediately stops at this message: This is not a 8139C+ compatible chip. Use the 8139too driver instead. Booting from previous kernel I can see that both modules 8139cp and 8139too are loaded towards mii. [EDIT] I made this test: - boot on previous kernel 2.6.15 - put 8139cp in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist - update-initramfs -u - reboot on 2.6.24-16 In this case the boot sequence hanged on the first message "Loading, please wait..." forever.
