Bug Description

Hi,

I have a cide23u usb-to-ide connector [http://www.conceptronic.net/site/desktopdefault.aspx?tabindex=0&tabid=200&Cat=30&grp=3010&ar=370&Prod_ID=1314&Prod=CIDE23U]

When I connect any ide harddisk to this connector and I plug into usb port, usb no mounts it. It happens in 7.10 and in 8.04.

Windows XP detects it and shows this content.

So, what happens?

Thanks,
Xan.

PS: For example, I plug into ide-usb connector an old hd: fujitsu with 1.96 GB of capacity and one NTFS partition.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It would be great if you could test this with the latest development release of Ubuntu, Intrepid Ibex Alpha 6, using the Live CD and include similar information if it is still an issue. You can find out more about it at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing . Thanks in advance.

Xan (dxpublica) wrote :

I can't try it with Intrepid Ibex Alpha (production environment), but I can wait untill Intrepid Ibex is not Alpha and then upgrade my system (8.04) to that and try in that moment.

Can you alert me automatically when 8.10 is release?

Thanks a lot,
Xan.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue for you. Can you try with the latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

This bug report is being closed because we received no response to the previous inquiry for information. Please reopen if this is still an issue in the current Ubuntu release, Jaunty Jackalope 9.04 - http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download. If the issue remains in Jaunty, please test the latest upstream kernel build - https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . To reopen the bug, click on the current status under the Status column and change the status back to "New". Thanks.
