I think FGLRX and/or Pulseaudio caused this problem. After disabling those two things all my problems went away.

Hi flclfan,

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? (ISOs are available from cdimage.ubuntu.com)

If it remains an issue, could you also attach a new /var/log/Xorg.0.log?
Thanks in advance.

The output of lspci -vvnn would also be worth having.

We're closing this bug since it is has been some time with no response from the original reporter. However, if the issue still exists please feel free to reopen with the requested information. Also, if you could, please test against the latest development version of Ubuntu, since this confirms the bug is one we may be able to pass upstream for help.

I have the same problem. When I use firefox, some times when there are many connections, everything freezes, also mouse pointer animation. But I am able to move the mouse. But I have to do a hard reset (turn off the power on my laptop) to continue. Usually I get this when I go to my www.netvibes.com account. Many rss connections on that page

I think that this is more general. The applications gvfs-gphoto2-vo, notify-osd and again gvfa-gphoto2-vo produced corrupted page table messages. The latter two may be consecutive faults, but I'm just speculating.

I hadn't too many connections open. But the system became unresponsive. I could switch to a terminal and call dmesg. But it hung completely when i called reboot.
