Comment 63 for bug 221499

I find it hard to believe this still isn't fixed. After a slightly up and down time with Karmic I came back to installing Hardy thinking the stability will be a big plus.

To begin with it couldn't detect correct monitor resolution but I didn't mind as it wanted to install nVidia drivers, and ethernet doesn't even work. The interesting thing is that it detects all types of network on my machine (I have a Vostro 1520) - wired and wireless (at least lshw shows them as detected). Wireless doesn't work so I was hoping at least I could get the 300MB of updates from ethernet, in the hope that those other problems would be rectified by that.

Are we giving up on this driver?
