Not sure if this is what you wanted, but ...
I manually downloaded and installed (via dpkg -i) the package linux-image-2.6.27-1-generic_2.6.27-1.2_amd64.deb onto my Hardy system and rebooted.
Frankly, I can't tell if this bug is present; with 2.6.27-1-generic, resume from suspend *never* works, regardless of what I do with the dock. Whenever I attempt to resume, the system powers up, the screen flickers a tiny bit, and after 4 seconds or so, it reboots.
Looks like a new bug report is in order. But I'm guessing I should install and test Intrepid first.

To answer another question: this bug does *not* appear in vanilla 2.6.26.3. It also does not appear in vanilla 2.6.24.
