Bug Description

In most application there is "not responding" window displayed. Firefox, Google Chrome, Google Remote Desktopm (=Chrome). In Google Remote Desktop the sound is transfered in a "okish" delay. The display of the remote machine is delayed by about 2-5 seconds.

The laptop is connected by wifi, the remote machine is connected by lan cable.
The problem also occur if the laptop is used in the same network about 2-3 meters away.

There seems to be a driver issue. If graphic, "chipset", ram or harddisk: I dont know. The machine is very old but is quad core with 4 gb of ram. There SHOULD be a better performance.
I used a dual core about 3-4 years ago and the performance was similar to this laptop now.

Thanks for the bug report. I can see two main problems here:

1. The amdgpu kernel graphics driver is emitting warnings that look like crashes.
2. The rtw_8821ce kernel wifi driver is flooding the system log (this is probably the performance issue).

So I can only suggest trying an older Ubuntu release like 22.04.0 with an older kernel:

  https://old-releases.ubuntu.com/releases/jammy/ubuntu-22.04-desktop-amd64.iso

or trying newer kernels from:

  https://kernel.ubuntu.com/mainline/?C=M;O=D

or disable wifi and use wired networking;
or replace the wifi card in the laptop with an Intel one.

summary: - awful performance
+ [RTL8821CE] awful performance
affects: xorg (Ubuntu) → linux (Ubuntu)

Thanks for the answer. Wired network is not possible here, so wifi is required. :(
Reinstalling with an older version is currently also not possible due to missing usb sticks. So at first I need to be home to decide which way is the best. But building a new kernel and switching to it without deeper experience and a fallback would be too hard for me.
