Bug Description

My laptop is a thinkbook 14 g6 abp and this issue occurs on every distro I tried and in different desktop environments. If I quickly tap or hold down either volume key; the key will then repeatedly press itself forever even after I stop holding the button. The only way to stop it by pressing either key for a specific amount of time which will make it change the volume normally.

The distros I tried were:
Kubuntu 24.04 (plasma)
Linux Mint 21.3 (cinnamon)
Fedora 40 (plasma)
Debian 12.6 (xfce)

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Libera.chat.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/2074262/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.

It looks like an ACPI BIOS issue, could you report it on Lenovo forum?
